Peak ADI privacy policy.

Last updated: [date]

Peak ADI is an app for driving instructors to run their diary, pupils and payments. This policy explains what happens to the information you put into it.

The short version

Who we are

Peak ADI is made by [business name] ("we", "us"), [address]. You can contact us at hello@peakadi.app.

Information stored on your iPhone

Everything you enter in Peak ADI is stored on your iPhone, protected by its passcode and iOS data protection. This includes:

We do not receive a copy of any of this. Because it never reaches us, you, the instructor, are responsible for your pupils' information as its data controller under UK GDPR. You should tell your pupils that you keep their details in Peak ADI, and delete them when you no longer need them. You can delete a pupil, with everything recorded for them, at any time.

Backups

If you use Backup and export, Peak ADI creates a file containing your data and saves it wherever you choose, for example iCloud Drive or the Files app. That file is then held by the service you chose, under its own terms. We don't receive it.

Drive times (optional, off unless you turn it on)

If you turn on Drive times in More, Peak ADI asks Apple Maps how long the drive is between today's pickups. To do that it sends Apple the pickup postcodes or addresses of today's lessons, and the times you'd be leaving. It never sends pupils' names or any other details, and we don't receive any of it. Apple handles these requests under its own privacy policy, as it does for any use of Apple Maps. Turn drive times off at any time to stop it.

Face ID

If you turn on the lock, iOS checks your face or fingerprint. Peak ADI never sees or stores biometric data; it only learns whether the check succeeded.

Information we collect

Your email address (optional)

If you enter your email and switch on Send me tips and offers, we store your email address and the date you agreed, so we can send you occasional emails about Peak ADI, including new features and special offers. We use [email service provider] to send these emails; it processes your address on our behalf.

The lawful basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email, turning the switch off in Peak ADI, or contacting us. Giving your email is never required to use Peak ADI.

Launch news on our website (optional)

If you sign up for launch news at peakadi.app, we store your email address, whether you ticked I use Android and Send me tips and offers, and when you signed up. We use it to email you when Peak ADI launches, and to send occasional tips and offers only if you ticked that box. It's stored with Cloudflare, which hosts our website and processes it on our behalf.

The lawful basis is your consent. To be taken off the list, use the unsubscribe link in any email or contact us.

Purchases

Subscriptions and other purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We don't receive your payment details. Apple tells the app whether you have Peak ADI Pro, so it can unlock the Pro features.

What we don't do

We don't use analytics or advertising tools, track you across other apps or websites, or sell or share personal information.

How long we keep your email

Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. After that, we keep only what's needed to make sure we don't email you again.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you (in practice, your email address), or object to its use. Contact hello@peakadi.app. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

Peak ADI is for driving instructors, not for children, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
